Schedule

Following the historic debut of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the New Zealand Masters Games in 2026, the New Zealand Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (NZBJJF), in partnership with the New Zealand Masters Games, is proud to bring BJJ back for its second edition in 2027.

Date: Sunday, 14 February 2027

Starts: 9:30 AM

Competition: Gi & No-Gi

Final brackets, schedules and individual match times will be published through SmoothComp before the event.

To compete in BJJ at the New Zealand Masters Games 2027, every athlete must complete both registration processes:

Complete the official NZ Masters Games registration and pay the applicable Masters Games Entry Fee through their registration system.

Registration through only one system is not sufficient. Athletes whose registration cannot be validated in both systems will not be authorised to compete.

The competition is open to eligible Masters athletes from all academies, teams and affiliations.

After registration closes, athletes will have a Checking Day to review their registration before brackets are finalised.

Any permitted corrections or cancellation requests must be made during the published Checking Day period.

Competition begins at 9:30 AM, but this does not mean every athlete competes at 9:30 AM.

Individual match times, brackets and mat allocations will be published on SmoothComp before the event.

Athletes are responsible for checking SmoothComp and arriving with enough time to prepare and complete the required weigh-in.

The New Zealand Masters Games registration and NZBJJF/SmoothComp BJJ registration are administered separately.
