Rules
All Age Divisions from Kids, Juveniles, Adults, and Masters, - all belt ranks are welcome to compete.
Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each division. Every registered competitor will receive a complimentary tournament t-shirt.
Our brackets are designed to provide 2 or more matches for willing participants in their divisions if possible. When brackets have 2 competitors, they will compete in a best 2 out of 3 to determine the champion. For brackets of 3 competitors, they will compete in a true round-robin and the champion will be determined by the number and types of wins. For brackets of 4 or more competitors, there may be 2 or more matches for each competitor. All competitors who do not have anyone registered in their division will automatically be awarded a gold medal. For Kids, we will make every effort to arrange a one-match consolation match so you still have the opportunity to compete.
Juvenile athletes will compete in their own division, but they’ll have the option to compete in the Adult division — as long as they meet belt and weight requirements and provide a signed waiver with parental authorization.
No Open Division for white belts and kids. Juvenile, Adults and Master only! Blue & Purple Belts – you may compete ONLY if you qualified in the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place of your weight division. All Brown & Black Belts sign-up after your division is complete. NO EXTRA COST!!
TEACHERS & ACADEMY OWNERS: Trophies for FIRST, SECOND and THIRD PLACE in the ADULTS and KIDS DIVISIONS.
Bring valid identification such as a driver’s license, passport, or IBJJF ID.
Kids checking in will need a BIRTH CERTIFICATE, PASSPORT or IBJJF ID.
All Kid Competitors are required to show their valid identification in the form of Birth Certificate, Passport or IBJJF card to compete. Any Kid Competitor without valid identification will be disqualified and will not compete. No refunds.
All Adult, Master & Juvenile Competitors are required to show their valid identification in the form of Drivers License, Passport, State Identification or IBJJF card to compete. Any Adult, Master or Juvenile Competitor without valid identification will be disqualified and will not compete. No refunds.
You will weigh in with your uniform on right before your
first match in the division. For Gi divisions, you will weigh in with
your GI and Belt on. For NoGi, you will weigh in with your shorts and
rash guard on. If you are doing both divisions, you will weigh in for
each division. Weight classes are MAXIMUMS.
There is a 0.9 lb allowance for all divisions.
Example: Weight class is 53 lbs so the competitor can be a
maximum of 53.9 lbs with their uniform on.
